ISTE Standards for Coaches 3: Coaches establish productive relationships with educators in order to improve instructional practice and learning outcomes.
A collaborator partners with others to create unique digital learning opportunities that amplify and enhance both teacher and student learning. This means establishing trusting and respectful coaching relationships, so that careful communication can safely occur among partnering educators for the benefit of all. Effective communication engenders the ability of partners to effectively identify digital learning content and tools that teachers must manage with respect to student learning and that are appropriate, relevant, and aligned for all. The ability to identify effective digital learning depends upon the collaborator’s ability to also partner in ways that allow for the evaluation of digital content and tools as they relate to technology adoption decisions. With all of this in mind, effective partnering means that the collaborator can understand how to individualize support for each educator that he or she works with through careful planning and modeling.
